We want comfort, we seek comfort. It’s one of the main goals of modern society: everyone wants to feel good. According to the O.M.S., health is “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”. Well-being is a state that involves all aspects of the human being, it is a condition of harmony between man and the environment, the result of a process of adaptation to multiple factors that affect the lifestyle. Dissatisfaction, stress, anxiety, insomnia, nervousness are typical ingredients of modern life and have negative repercussions on emotional and social relationships and on psychophysical well-being.
Symptoms of psychophysical distress include difficulty sleeping at night. Difficulty falling asleep, frequent awakenings, nightmares are all signs of a high level of stress and inner problems. Covid-19 also took our sleep away, at least from one half of us. Anxiety tops the list of disorders that appear with quarantine, followed by insomnia.
The skin also shows signs of stress. The immune system is weakened and the protective skin barrier is compromised. The skin is more exposed to the action of pathogens from outside and the result is the appearance of skin imperfections such as redness and dryness. The skin looks dull, dull and small wrinkles appear more visible and deeper.
